If the economic downturn has got you reaching for the drab and dreary items in your wardrobe, it's time to lighten up and start piling on the glitz. The party season is upon us and a knock 'em dead frock is pretty much a prerequisite for December. Just call it a seasonal style investment if the bank manager asks.
"There is a lot of pressure to get bang on the buck with daywear. But not eveningwear. It just needs to look sensational," says Annebelle van Tongeren, author of Dress Like a Star. "For statement dressing, whatever the occasion, the point is to make a statement. Or be overlooked."
Whether you're a magpie for all that glitters or an anti-wallflower brights fan, this is the season to shine.
Put your best frock on, kick up those dancing heels and party in style.
