There is no point in being impatient with a loved one who is not entirely in control of their situation or feelings. What they need is sympathy and some practical input. Although they may not be able to help themselves, may be it is possible for you to take charge. Of course you are busy, but time given in small bursts is better than no time given at all. It could tip the balance in their favour.
