Kate Hudson has admitted she once walked out of a bad dinner date - before she'd had any food.
The Hollywood actress - who split from rocker husband Chris Robinson last year - revealed the man she was on a date with was so "deeply boring" she thought she'd save them both the trouble of staying for an entire meal.
"I left before we even got any food because the guy was so deeply boring. I was like, 'I'm going to just save us from all of this and leave'," she said. "I think he was in banking."
In her latest role in romcom My Best Friend's Girl, Kate plays a character who is enjoying being single again after a relationship collapses.
And unlike many of the star's past romcom efforts, this movie has an edgy side.
"I finally get to swear and say and do certain things that most people say to each other in normal, everyday life," says the 29-year-old. "I got a little taste of what those Sex And The City girls were up to for so long, which was fun."
The flick follows Dustin (Jason Biggs) who is heartbroken after being dumped by girlfriend Alexis (Kate). To win her back he hires his friend Tank (Dane Cook) to take her on a terrible date, hoping it will drive her back into his arms.
My Best Friend's Girl will be released in cinemas on Friday November 21.
